I think there is something intrinsically wrong with allowing our youth to put their lives on the line before they’re able to legally have a sip of alcohol.
I’m sickened every time I see reports of deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq but more so when it’s a 19 or 20 year old.
I think the age when you can serve in the military should be raised to 21.
At 21 the thought processes are better developed to make a choice that could mean life or death. Those signing up aren’t teen-agers or young adults; they are adults. Shouldn’t such an important decision, one that defines their future, be made by adults?
